Web Engineer

Devolver Digital is looking for a Web Engineer to help us build and maintain scalable web applications using modern JavaScript technologies, with a focus on delivering functional user experiences and robust backend systems. 

You’ll be responsible for assisting the Engineering team with designing and developing full-stack web applications using Node.js and Next.js, creating both server-side APIs and dynamic frontend interfaces. You'll work with different database solutions including Snowflake and MongoDB for data storage and retrieval.

Qualities we’re looking for

• We're looking for someone with 3+ years of professional experience in web development, with strong proficiency in Node.js for building server-side applications and APIs.
• You should have hands-on experience with Next.js, including both the App Router and Pages Router, and a solid understanding of React and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Experience designing and working with relational and non-relational databases is essential, as is familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation.
• You should be comfortable with Git version control and have a strong foundation in HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.

Nice to Haves

• Ideal candidates will have experience with TypeScript for type-safe development and familiarity with additional technologies such as Next.js, Tailwind CSS, or other CSS frameworks.
• Experience with deployment platforms such as Vercel, AWS, or similar cloud services.
• We also appreciate experience with GraphQL, Redis or other caching solutions, and authentication systems (NextAuth.js, JWT, OAuth).
• Knowledge of queue systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka is a plus.
